My silver pieces look no different after 2 hrs of tumbling
hi there, I recently purchased a Lortone 3A tumbler. I followed all the instructions and my sterling silver pieces looked absolutely no different after 2 1/2 hrs of tumbling???
Do I need to do sanding etc first??

Hi Jo!
Not enough info here. How rough are your pieces to start with? What are you tumbing and in what kind of medium? Tumbling with stainless steel shot will refresh lightly oxidized Sterling silver beads, etc. in about 30 minutes. For rough cast pieces, etc. stainless steel shot, water, dish soap and often a rotary tumbler is not the correct tumbling/finishing method.
