Tiny specs all over silver

I have been trying to tumble some silver castings in my 3lb tumbler and they keep coming out with tiny specs all over them. Do you know what is causing this? I have been tumbling them for around 2 hours...do I just need to tumble longer?

Hi Gemma!

I tried emailing you for more specifics, but didn't hear back from you. I need to know what you mean by "tiny specs"? Are they raised particals on the metal surface, pits in the metal as in porosity? Same color as the base metal or different? I can better understand what's going on once I know what I'm looking at. Otherwise, I would be guessing. Also if you can, a close-up photo would be great!
